My handwoven collections are woven in small numbers mainly because each piece I design and create is unique. I like to weave a collection made up of 3 to 7 pieces. The wearer can be 100% sure that their woven stole or scarf is one of a kind.
The design process behind this collection was, I wanted to weave a summer stole for the Australian Christmas holidays. I blended the Northern Hemisphere traditional winter woven patterns, birds eye and Christmas star, combined with a tartan effect using the colours of the Australian outback. The stoles are loosely woven in linen/cotton creating a super light weight evening stole.
The Australian Christmas Stole Collection will be available for purchase at the Fremantle Arts Centre Bazaar on the 1st and 2nd of December. Come early, because first in, will definitely be best dressed! More images on ‘Photo Gallery’ page.
