Hi Shirley,
I heard about you recently from one of our students who is over for the tapestry camp (South West Tafe Victoria). Terrific to see a West Australian weaver. I am from WA originally, studied at RMIT and now teach at tafe and have a small hand weaving business in regional Vic. My boys are 3 and 4 and am just starting to increase production.Lovely to see your work. You are so prolific ! regards Karen

Hi Shir! I´m still trying to come up with an adjective to match prolific, but I´m failing miserably!! Anyway, I am just so impressed with your work, cailín, with the variety of textures you come up with and also with the range of outlets where your work can be admired and purchased. Great stuff, one cannot help but to think of Yeats when checking out your site… You´re definitely having a good one, shine on! Sandra

Hi Shirley
I replied to your comment on my WA article.
And you really have a great skill in your designs and use of colours.

Shirley,
Is that you in the photo standing next to the loom? I’m so intrigued about how to use one of those things. It looks like it holds many secrets and mysteries to be discovered. Will check out some of your pieces in the galleries you’ve listed. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and creativity.

Hi Natasa,
Thanks for leaving a comment on my weblog. There are two photos of me working at my looms, an oldie on ‘My background’ page and a more recent one on the ‘Shirley Treasure’ page! I glad you are so excited about learning to weave, be warned, weaving is highly addictive!!
Cheers

Shirley,
This is an impressive and prolific collection. Amazing irish influence through this work.
I felt like wanting to learn weaving when I lived in Galway and visited the Aran Island.
I made some stuff and experiments following also the advises of my mother and an irish woman very skillful in this.
You are right it’s addictive
I’d love to live closer and joining to one of thoses great workshops in Gingin.
I love the colors, designs and textures you use. Congratulations from Spain.
