Design & Weaving

I design on my computer using ‘Fibreworks’ weaving software. After I tied it onto the front beam I had a small bit of tweaking (a weaving technical term!) and I’m off. A couple of broken threads to start off with but I’m sure it will settle soon.

This is a copy of the drawdown I will be using for this warp.

  1. I love the designs, have always wondered how you get circles in weave. Can you also tell me where you buy your 100% Australian cotton? I am a beginner weaver in Melbourne.

  2. Hi Amanda,
Circles are fun, it was one of the first things I learned to weave in tapestry. Over the years I have woven so many ‘birdseye’ I find circles very refreshing.
I will email you re: cotton.
    Cheers
    Shirley
